I/T Networks team will be connecting the new building network infrastructure located in Enron Center South (ECS) to the existing Enron Center North (ECN) backbone network. With two different configurations, support costs are increased due to identification requirements and the knowledge of how to troubleshoot two different methods. Because the TNSNames name resolution method is dependent on a text file called tnsnames.ora, the clients are configured to access a global file located on the sites W: drive. With Oracle Names as a backup, users will be able to resolve database paths even if the w: drive is down. Backout: Revert user back to tnsnames only.
