recipient of the 10th annual IAFE/SunGard Financial Engineer of the
Year award on February 7, 2002 at the United Nations Delegates Dining
room in New York City.

Dr. Lo was selected for this award for his advancement of investment
management theory. His work regarding the non-random nature of
financial markets represents a dramatic new way for practitioners and
theorists to view the capital markets. Dr. Lo is the Harris & Harris Group
Professor at the MIT Sloan School of Management and the Director of MIT's
Laboratory for Financial Engineering.
