  • 26 Feb. I just posted solutions to problem set 1 (.pdf or .ps).

  • 25 Feb. I wrote up some notes (.pdf or .ps) in an attempt to explain better what is going on in the proof of proposition 3.2.3 that we discussed yesterday in class. Comments are welcome.

  • 24 Feb. Problem set 2 (.pdf or .ps) is due in class on Thurs., Mar. 4.

  • 12 Feb. I wrote up a careful proof of Claim 2.5.2.1 that I got stuck on in class last Tuesday (.pdf or .ps) In fact, I wrote up three proofs. One is an elementary algebraic proof, one is geometric, and one uses Markov's lemma.

  • 9 Feb. Problem set 1 (.pdf or .ps) is due in class on Tues., Feb. 17.

  • 17 Jan. I've written up the construction of a hard language (.pdf or .ps) that I sketched in class last Thursday.
