Assignments:

Homework Policies

  • Schedule: Generally speaking, we will assign problem sets every two weeks and expect them back in two weeks. Official due dates are posted on the assignment schedule below and on the problem sets themselves, unless you've heard otherwise from Pavel and Prof. Zucker.
  • Collaboration policy: Students are encouraged to discuss problems with other students. However, do not under any circumstances copy another person's answer, code, or result. Doing so is a clear violation of ethical, academic standards. Anyone who is caught copying will be referred to the Executive Committee of Yale College or to the Deans of the Graduate School for disciplinary action.
  • Late policy: We give 0 credit for late problem sets. Problem sets are due by 11:59:59 on the due date.
  • Homework Guidelines

  • Submission: Please submit a hard copy of your images and comments. Supplemental code submissions are also welcome. They may be placed in your zoo Vision locker, under a directory called 'cs475' in your root dorectory.
  • Problem set comments: We will frequently ask you to comment on your results. We want a brief behavioral (or functional) view of your results, and a brief description of the algorithm (or math) involved.
  • Label your plots. This will help you understand crucial details better. You'll do better on exams.
