I'm going to hand you one thousand dollars, in one-dollar bills. Your job is to put those dollar bills in envelopes, in such a manner that no matter what number of dollars I ask you for you'll hand me the appropriate combination of envelopes. What is the fewest number of envelopes required?

  • Last Friday, there was a conference at the Management School on The Rise of Machine Learning in Asset Management

  • In 1995, I chaired a conference on Artificial Intelligence Applications on Wall Street.
  • In the past two decades, the main change is not in the fundamental techniques, but in the power and capacity of the machines.

  • Most of machine learning involves calculating a decision boundary.
