Subject: Niagara Mohawk Asset Management RFP


Niagara Mohawk intends to issue an RFP for portfolio management
services and the purchase of natural gas on or about Thursday,
July 13, 2000.  Responses to this RFP will be due no later than
5:00 Eastern Daylight Time on Monday, July 24, 2000.

Attached is a confidentiality agreement.  If you would like to
receive a copy of the bid package including the RFP and
historical weather and load data, please complete, sign, and
return the attached confidentiality agreement.  You may return
