Don't Panic

Given the recent headlines regarding anthrax infection, is it a good idea to take antibiotics just in case? Officials say no.

The FDA is discouraging people from taking antibiotics such as ciprofloxacin as a prophylactic measure. Taking antibiotics without proper diagnosis of a condition could speed the development of antibiotic-resistant forms of infection, as well as put a strain on supplies.
