FEDERAL REGULATORS CRACK DOWN ON CALIFORNIA ENERGY PROVIDERS Federal regulators on Monday ordered three California energy providers to justify more than $587,000 in potentially excess profits collected last month, prompting state officials to again complain that federal authorities aren't going far enough. DEVELOPERS PLAN TO BUILD THREE POWER STATIONS IN CALIFORNIA'S INLAND EMPIRE On a fast track spurred by the state's energy crisis, two developers intend to build three generating stations in the Inland Empire and power them up this summer. MIDAMERICAN SEES PUHCA REPEAL AS SENATE SLATES ACTION The Senate Banking Committee has scheduled an April 24 vote on legislation to repeal the 1935 Public Utility Holding Company Act, or PUHCA.
