The Scoop

The market cannot go up forever. Today was disappointing, but not unexpected. Even with today's weakness, the Nasdaq almost 6% since the Nov 12 low. Most every group was weak, or at best mixed. It was not simply a rotation from techs into defensive groups or cyclicals. Rather, traders went to cash. Volume was surprisingly strong, but we expect a quiet day tomorrow ahead of the Thanksgiving  The general negative tone for the market was partly established by The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development lowering its 2002 world economic growth forecast to 1% from 2.8% due to the aftershocks of the terrorist attacks. Also not helping the techs...
