The YDN Technology Desk designs, develops, and maintains the production website for the Yale Daily News (yaledailynews.com), the oldest college daily and a top-ranking college newspaper. We develop real software used by thousands of people everyday from the Yale community and beyond. Joining the Technology Desk is a great opportunity to practice software engineering skills while making a tangible impact that supports student journalism on campus.

What you’ll get to do on the YDN Technology Desk: Push code to production on a service used by 200k users per month Work with an existing codebase with 200k lines of code Design and build novel features such as interactive stories Pitch and pursue tech projects that are interesting to you Be a part of a small, tight-knit development team (and be full-fledged members of the YDN) Interested in joining the team?
